This is a structured trainee position within an owner-managed SME specialising in AOG (Aircraft on Ground), courier, air freight, road freight and on-board courier logistics. You will gain hands-on experience across UK and international shipments, including transport coordination, imports and exports, building a strong foundation for a long-term career in freight forwarding.

SALARY: £23,000 - £26,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm (initial training week 9am – 4:30pm)
JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee Transport and Logistics Coordinator who is keen to build a career within logistics, transport and courier operations.
As a Trainee Transport and Logistics Coordinator you will receive hands-on training across imports, exports and domestic transport coordination, learning how to arrange door-to-door shipments and support time-critical freight movements.
In this varied Trainee Transport and Logistics Coordinator role you will liaise with customers, suppliers, carriers and international agents, support customs processes and help ensure collections and deliveries run smoothly and on time.
The company specialises in AOG (Aircraft on Ground), courier, air freight, road freight and on-board courier logistics. Given the time-critical nature of the operation, strong organisation, attention to detail, communication skills and a proactive approach are important.
This structured trainee position provides an opportunity to learn directly from experienced colleagues while developing a strong practical foundation in freight forwarding and logistics operations.
DUTIES- Learning Logistics Operations: Gain practical experience coordinating door-to-door shipments across UK and international transport, imports and exports
- Customer and Supplier Liaison: Communicate with customers, suppliers, carriers and logistics partners to coordinate shipments and help resolve delivery queries
- Transport Coordination: Organise UK collections and deliveries, helping ensure freight reaches its destination in line with agreed schedules
- Customs Administration: Support the preparation and processing of documentation for import and export customs clearances
- Shipment Documentation: Maintain accurate shipment, collection and delivery records using internal systems
- Hazardous Cargo Support: Assist with documentation and the safe transportation of hazardous goods
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate shipment and delivery records using internal systems
- Operational Team Support: Work closely with experienced colleagues and provide day-to-day support across the logistics operation
- A genuine interest in developing a career within logistics, transport or courier operations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast-paced working environment
- Good attention to detail with a willingness to learn new systems and procedures
- Proactive, positive approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Competent using Microsoft Office and general IT systems
