Technical Supervisor, Emergency Department
Compensation: $62,000 annually
Full-time opportunity in Central Point, Oregon
Schedule:
Full-time, Wednesday through Saturday
Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking a Technical Supervisor for the Emergency Department to join our leadership team. As our Emergency Department grows, we're expanding our supervisory structure by sharing the department's technical leadership responsibilities between two supervisors. This approach is designed to provide stronger frontline support, more accessible leadership, greater focus on employee development, and more sustainable supervisory coverage across a 24-hour department.
This is a working supervisor role designed for an experienced veterinary professional who enjoys being on the floor, supporting a team, teaching others, and helping create an excellent patient care environment. You'll partner closely with the other Technical Supervisor to lead the department's technical team across day, swing, and night shifts. Each supervisor will have assigned direct reports and primary responsibility for their ongoing development, performance management, and evaluations, while both provide frontline guidance and operational support to technical team members working on shift.
Approximately 80% of working time is spent in a clinical/frontline capacity, with the remaining time dedicated to administrative and leadership responsibilities.
As part of a 24-hour emergency hospital, this role requires flexibility and visibility across day, swing, and night shifts, including weekends. Wednesday provides time for administrative responsibilities, coordination with the other supervisors, meetings, and other departmental needs. The schedule is subject to change based on hospital needs, departmental operations, staffing requirements, and evolving leadership responsibilities.
