POSITION: Campus Security Supervisor
HOURS: 8.0 hours per day
BUILDING: Crater High School
CALENDAR: 184 days per year
- COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
- $19.18 - $23.06 depending upon approved accepted experience
- Longevity pay after completion of 6 years of employment
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon School Employees Association)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees

Purpose: The Campus Security Supervisor supports the physical safety of students and school staff by enforcing and implementing security procedures and ensuring security protocols are respected by students, staff, and visitors.
Reports to: Principal or Assistant Principal
Nature of Work: The Campus Security Supervisor works independently following standardized routines under general supervision. The nature of the work requires adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations. This job requires frequent interaction both with students and the general public and as such requires a high level of professional decorum as well as the ability to act as a role model for young people.
Supervision Exercised: No direct supervision exercised.
Interface: Primarily interfaces with students, administrators, teachers, non‑licensed school staff, visitors, parents and local law enforcement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Patrol school buildings and grounds to protect against trespassing, loitering, vandalism and similar risks.
- Responds to security service calls.
- Monitors student parking lot, including managing the issuance of parking permits, enforcing parking regulations, issuing citations and ensuring safe driving.
- Maintains order and crowd control at school functions, including athletic competitions, social events and other large school gatherings.
- Provides emergency intervention in situations of immediate danger.
- Responds to reports of hazardous conditions, disturbances, or suspicious activities.
- Assists investigations of reports of property loss, theft, assault or other crimes; collects and preserves evidence as necessary to provide to local law enforcement. Ensures property damage is quickly reported to appropriate school or District departments.
- Serves as liaison to local law enforcement, including School Resource Officers, to address and resolve issues of mutual concern.
- Maintains security records, logs and reports.
- Maintains effective and respectful working relationships with staff and students.
