Job Description
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in support of two mission planning software packages, Sita Ware and IRIS Suite, to meet our Army customer's and foreign military partner mission objectives. This application can sync into sensors on thousands of soldiers within minutes, detect friendly and enemy personnel, integrate real‑time satellite imagery, and more. You will be responsible for managing the access and setup of both internal and external users into the application.
Responsibilities- Take overall responsibility for tech stack infrastructure, cybersecurity, and specialized program solutions.
- Provide support and set technical direction for application and company infrastructure.
- Manage security projects through the entire project life cycle, including the development of project plans/schedules, scope, budgets, resources, deliverables, and quality.
- Manage internal and outsourced resources and develop and implement internal strategies to support growth.
- Understand technical infrastructure challenges, provide technical guidance to the team, and ensure technical quality.
- Be hands‑on in managing, maintaining, and deploying systems, including performing server configuration, technical troubleshooting, and implementing new systems.
- Manage regulatory and compliance programs: NIST 800‑171, DFARS 7012, and CMMC.
- Manage and maintain on‑premise and cloud‑based hardware and software.
- Develop and implement infrastructure policies and procedures.
- Perform regular security audits and create disaster recovery plans.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, or related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Cybersecurity.
- Experience with cybersecurity compliance standards and frameworks (NIST) and CMMC compliance.
- Experience executing regular system auditing and incident response.
- Eligible for a US Secret Clearance.
- Experience with Windows Server, Power Shell, Active Directory, GCC High / Azure, Office 365, VMware ESXi / Hyper‑V / Docker, networking (routing, switching, VPNs), and IA (PKI, MFA solutions, DLP, MDM).
Skills & Qualifications
- Security+, CASP+, CISSP, or CISM certification(s).
- Experience supporting, managing, monitoring, and maintaining internal infrastructure and backups in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Ability to install and manage production, testing, development, and training environments that support client work.
- Experience in providing ad‑hoc on‑site technical support, including troubleshooting laptops, routers, printers, servers, remote access services, and cloud services.
- Oversee cybersecurity initiatives and work with partners and consultants.
The position offers a hybrid work environment with two days in the office, specifically on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for all‑hands meetings, brainstorming sessions, and customer demos. The office is beautifully located around a pond, providing a pleasant atmosphere. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen and catered lunch on Tuesdays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centreville, VA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 – $57.70 per hour.
