We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Enza Zaden team and drive the strategic development and positioning of our Allium products across the region.

• Shape the future of the Allium portfolio:
  Play a key role in developing and positioning innovative onion and Allium varieties that help growers achieve improved performance and profitability.
• Regional impact:
  Work across Sub-Saharan Africa, collaborating with sales teams, product developers, breeders and key customers to drive portfolio success across diverse markets.
• Strategic and operational influence:
  Combine market intelligence, product strategy and customer engagement to translate regional opportunities into successful commercial outcomes.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for maximizing the performance of the Allium portfolio across Sub-Saharan Africa by coordinating product positioning, supporting variety advancement decisions, and translating global crop strategies into regional market plans. The role is based in Centurion, South Africa, and reports to the Centurion office. Frequent travel within the region is required.

In this role you will:

• Drive portfolio performance:
  Maximize market share and gross margin through effective variety positioning and portfolio optimization across the region.
• Develop strategic market plans:
  Co‑create and implement regional crop and market strategies, translating them into actionable commercial plans.
• Lead product positioning and advancement:
  Support variety advancement decisions, seed allocation planning and introduction strategies in collaboration with global and regional stakeholders.
• Provide market intelligence:
  Analyse market trends, customer needs, competitive developments and sales performance to guide portfolio decisions.
• Collaborate across functions:
  Work closely with Product Developers, Sales Teams, Regional Sales Director, Global Portfolio Managers and Marketing teams to deliver successful product and customer solutions.
• Engage with customers and industry stakeholders:
  Build relationships with key growers, distributors, advisors and industry associations across the region.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Sciences or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience within the agricultural or seed industry.
• Experience with onions is a strong advantage; experience with other vegetable crops will also be considered.
• Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to translate market opportunities into effective product strategies.
• Ability to work effectively across countries, cultures and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Based in South Africa or willing to relocate to South Africa (Valid South African work authorization, residence permit or documentation allowing legal employment in South Africa)
