Role Purpose

The Learning and Development Specialist (Technical) will play a key role in designing, delivering, and supporting impactful learning solutions aligned to business priorities. The role includes the development of classroom, virtual and digital content, facilitating learning, enabling system or product knowledge transfer, and supporting strategic business projects. This role is important in driving learning culture, strengthening L&D capabilities, and measuring learning impact in-country or across the segment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Education, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Facilitation and Instructional Design certification (preferred).
  • LMS or e-learning tool certifications (advantageous).
  • Project coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple rollouts.
  • Understanding of learning analytics and impact measurement.
  • Experience in working in African markets.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance (preferred).
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop blended learning materials, including digital, classroom and assessments.
  • Design engaging, creative, pedagogically sound digital learning experiences aligned with learning outcomes.
  • Develop high quality storyboards, scripts, and digital content for multimedia and online courses.
  • Curate learning content from internal and external sources aligned to identified needs.
  • Collaborate with business SMEs and system or product teams to understand upcoming launches or changes and translate technical content into learning.
  • Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions for internal stakeholders and facilitators.
  • Support learner experience design using instructional design principles and ensure quality assurance of learning content and delivery.
  • Integrate multimedia tools and technologies to create interactive learning experiences.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual learning sessions.
  • Act as L&D point of contact for system, process, and product learning support.
  • Work closely with the L&D Business Partner to support in-country L&D to localise segment L&D initiatives.
  • Upload learning content and track completion on the LMS (Kitso)
  • Schedule and manage learning logistics, LMS administration, and training calendars.
  • Provide performance coaching and learner support where required.
  • Drive implementation of learning culture initiatives and best-practice sharing across country L&D teams.
  • Support compliance interventions to ensure adherence to the Group, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support marketing and internal campaigns to promote learning initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate training impact using feedback, assessments, and business metrics.
  • Generate reports to show learning uptake, completion, and feedback insights.
  • Provide reporting on L&D metrics and impact.
