Electrical Technician - Power Generation

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to support their power generation facilities in Centurion . This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment essential for power generation. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our power plants, contributing directly to the stability of the energy supply. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and eager to work in a challenging industrial environment.

• Install, test, and commission electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switch gear, and control systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on electrical plant equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and failures, implementing effective solutions.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Technician in a power generation or heavy industrial setting.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems and low-to-medium voltage equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure.
• Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergency call-outs as needed.
