This position requires full-time presence at our Centurion, South Africa office.
Alaris Antennas is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Draughtsman to join our Industrialisation team. In this role, you will be central to translating engineering concepts into precise, manufacturing-ready documentation, working closely with our designers and engineers to uphold the high standards of technical accuracy and consistency that our products demand.If you are a seasoned draughting professional with a strong command of CAD tools, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload in a dynamic defence-technology environment, we would like to hear from you.
Education & experience
N5 Multi-disciplinary Draughting Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Draughting
N5/N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification
5 years in a design, draughting, and manufacturing environment

Create thorough, detailed assembly drawings and assembly instructions from engineers’ layouts.
Convert hand-sketches into CAD using established draughting standards.
Ensure draughting style consistency between drawings as per Alaris draughting standards.
Seek clarity and advice from designers as needed to ensure design questions are answered upfront.
Standardise selected pre-existing layouts and assembly drawings.
Incorporate red lines into original drawings following the ECP process.
Assist in creating, updating, and evaluating Alaris quality plan procedures relating to engineering drawings and documentation.
Work independently with designers and engineers on various projects, producing detailed and assembly drawings for manufacturing or fabrication.
Attend design reviews and related project meetings as requested.
Coordinate draughting workload with relevant managers and project managers to support the prevailing workload.
Self-check and correct all work prior to submitting to the mechanical engineers for review.
Verify the nominal fits of all parts as they are detailed from an overall layout.
Apply industry-standard mechanical draughting techniques throughout.
Database management

Plot and manage CAD files, original plots, and electronic file backups.
Translate electronic documents between various formats (DWG, DXF, STP, PDF, ZIP, etc.).
Update older drawings to current standards.
Assist in managing and maintaining standard parts libraries and CAD templates.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of projects, individuals, and the company.
