Senior Mechanical Engineering Consultant

This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who wants to work on more than routine design work. You will help local and international engineering companies improve how they design products, manage engineering data, validate designs, and implement modern engineering technologies.

You will work across industries such as manufacturing, mining, automotive, defence, industrial equipment, product development, and advanced engineering.

• Work with leading technologies including SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS PDM, 3
  
  DEXPERIENCE and SIMULIA

• Get exposure to both local and international engineering projects.

• Move beyond traditional design work into consulting, technical leadership, and engineering process improvement.

• Work with real engineering teams to improve CAD standards, data management, design workflows, and product development processes.

• Be exposed to advanced tools in simulation, data management, automation, and digital engineering.

• Deliver engineering consulting services to customers.

• Conduct drawing office, CAD, and engineering process assessments.

• Help customers improve design workflows, CAD standards, revision control, and engineering documentation.

• Support engineering data management, PDM, and digital transformation projects.

• Assist with SOLIDWORKS, PDM, 3
  
  DEXPERIENCE, and related engineering technology implementations.

• Develop and review CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation

• Apply practical Design for Manufacturing principles.

• Present recommendations, technical demonstrations, workshops, and training.

• Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering qualification.

• 5–7+ years’ experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing, or engineering systems.

• Strong CAD experience, preferably SOLIDWORKS.

• Good understanding of drawings, BOMs, revision control, manufacturing, and design release processes.

• Comfortable working directly with customers, engineering managers, and technical teams.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and project delivery skills.

• Experience with PDM, PLM, ERP, or engineering data management systems

• Drawing office management, CAD administration, or design team leadership experience

• Exposure to FEA, CFD or other simulation tools

• Experience with design automation, templates, workflows, or engineering process improvement

• A strong design engineer, senior CAD user, drawing office lead, PDM/CAD administrator, or engineering systems specialist who wants to move into a broader consulting and technical leadership role.
