Job Overview:

Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Draughtsman with experience in process plants utilizing Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modelling software to join our team. The role involves creating detailed 3D models and technical fabrication drawings for mechanical equipment used in process plants. You will work closely with engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a variety of mechanical design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 3D models and technical fabrication drawings (including weld maps) of storage vessels, pressure vessels, and other mechanical equipment.
• Develop 3D concepts for detailed design phases. 3D modelling and review of process plant layouts.
• Reading and interpretation of equipment general arrangement drawings, mechanical datasheets, and process flow diagrams.
• Ensure accurate design integration with other disciplines.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
• Prepare and update technical documentation and drawings as required.
• Maintain drawing libraries and ensure adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Draughting or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a draughtsman, with expertise in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modelling softwares.
• Experience with static mechanical equipment including pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers, columns, reboilers and related equipment.
• Familiarity with industry standards and design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
