Engineer-In-Training: Process

This is an entry-level, contract role for a Graduate Engineer to join Lesedi's Design Group. The purpose is to gain hands‑on experience in the roll‑out of design work on various projects, with the specific aim of acquiring the knowledge necessary for professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa).

• Technical Competence & Learning:
  Apply engineering principles to produce accurate designs, calculations, and reports while learning new tools and methodologies
• Project Delivery & Execution:
  Contribute to project milestones, complete tasks within deadlines, and effectively document all work
• Professional Development:
  Actively participate in training and mentorship to progress toward ECSA registration
• Teamwork &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Work effectively under senior engineers and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients
• Safety, Quality & Compliance:
  Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure quality assurance in all work produced

• Qualification:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BEng or BSc Eng)
• Experience:
  
  Entry Level;
  Practical industrial or engineering experience is an added advantage
• Technical:
  Must be computer literate
• Knowledge:
  Fundamental understanding of engineering principles, theories, and relevant regulations/codes
• Skills:
  
  Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and planning skills;
  Attention to detail is critical
• Behaviors:
  Deadline-driven, self-motivated, proactive, collaborative, and able to work well in multidisciplinary teams
