About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to spearhead the design and development efforts for new product lines in Centurion, Gauteng . This leadership role involves guiding a team of engineers, setting design standards, and driving innovation in mechanical product development. • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the conceptualization, design, prototyping, and testing of new mechanical products and systems.
• Establish and enforce design best practices , standards, and procedures across the engineering team.
• Conduct design reviews, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure product reliability and manufacturability.
• Collaborate closely with product management, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation in product design.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in mechanical product design, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
• Expertise in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., Inventor, Solid Works) and simulation tools (FEA, CFD).
• In-depth knowledge of material selection, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly (DFA).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
