About the Role
Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Lead Production Engineer to spearhead production optimization efforts within the Oil & Gas sector . This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker who can balance on-site analysis with remote oversight of production facilities. You will be responsible for maximizing output, ensuring operational integrity, and driving efficiency across multiple fields. This is a pivotal position for a leader who can mentor a team, implement innovative production technologies, and contribute to the company's sustained growth and profitability in a challenging market environment, working from our Centurion hub with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to optimize oil and gas production rates and recovery factors.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of production facilities, including separators, pumps, and compressors.
- Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions for improvement.
- Manage artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps) and troubleshoot associated issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Lead and mentor a team of production engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 9 years of experience in production engineering, with significant leadership experience.
- In-depth knowledge of production operations, artificial lift, and surface facility design.
- Proficiency in production data analysis software and simulation tools.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience with hybrid work models and effective remote collaboration.
