Chemical Engineer - Process Development

Our client is looking for a skilled Chemical Engineer specializing in process development to join their dynamic team in Centurion . This role focuses on optimizing and scaling up chemical processes for the manufacturing of advanced materials. You will play a key part in improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability within our production operations. • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pilot and commercial scale production.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform experimental studies to investigate process variables and improve product yield and quality.
• Develop P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during process scale-up and manufacturing.

• B.Eng or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and separation processes.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and project management skills.
