- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and design reports for bulk materials handling infrastructure.
- Evaluate material flow properties and their impact on chute and transfer point design.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Support procurement through technical evaluation of bulk materials handling equipment tenders.
- Provide technical input during construction and commissioning to resolve site-based design queries.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, reduce spillage, and minimise downtime.
- A Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng) in mechanical or mining engineering.
- A minimum of three years' experience in bulk materials handling design within a mining or minerals processing environment.
- Demonstrable experience working on mining projects, including underground mining operations.
- Working knowledge of conveyor design principles and relevant materials handling standards.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design and simulation software.
- Registration as a Candidate Engineer or Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
- Experience with discrete element modelling (DEM) for material flow analysis.
- Exposure to EPCM project delivery environments.
