About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a skilled Geotechnical Civil Engineer to contribute to their projects in Centurion . This role focuses on the analysis and design of foundations, earthworks, and slope stability for a variety of infrastructure and building developments. You will conduct site investigations, interpret soil and rock mechanics data, and provide expert recommendations to ensure the structural integrity and safety of construction projects.
This is a challenging position for an engineer passionate about soil mechanics and foundation design, working within a leading consultancy firm committed to excellence and sustainable development practices in the Gauteng region.
- Plan and execute geotechnical investigations , including site reconnaissance, drilling, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock samples to determine engineering properties and behavior.
- Perform foundation design calculations for shallow and deep foundations, including piles and rafts.
- Assess slope stability, seepage, and settlement potential for earth structures and excavations.
- Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports with clear recommendations and design parameters.
- Collaborate with structural engineers and other disciplines to integrate geotechnical solutions.
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnics.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigation and design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Geo Studio, or similar analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and engineering geology principles.
- Experience with geophysical survey methods and interpretation is a plus.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
