About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Optimization to join their innovative team in Centurion . This role is critical for enhancing the efficiency, safety, and profitability of existing chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing operational data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing data-driven solutions to improve yields and reduce waste. This position requires a proactive individual who can apply advanced engineering principles to real-world challenges within a plant environment, contributing directly to the company's operational excellence goals.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze plant operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for process improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize reaction kinetics, separation processes, and energy consumption.
- Design and execute pilot plant trials to validate process modifications before full-scale implementation.
- Collaborate closely with plant operators, maintenance teams, and management to ensure seamless integration of optimized processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process performance and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all process changes comply with safety , environmental, and quality regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on optimization and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, PRO/II) and statistical analysis.
- Solid understanding of chemical plant operations, thermodynamics , and mass/heat transfer principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements in an industrial setting, preferably in Centurion or nearby areas.
