Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Lead Metallurgist to join their mineral processing team. This role is essential for optimizing recovery processes, driving metallurgical improvements, and ensuring the efficient processing of mined materials. You will lead a team of metallurgists and technicians, applying your expertise to solve complex processing challenges and enhance plant performance. The hybrid nature of this role allows for hands-on engagement at the plant while offering flexibility for strategic planning and data analysis remotely, ensuring a balanced approach to driving metallurgical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and optimize all aspects of the mineral processing plant, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching circuits.
- Lead metallurgical test work, process development, and troubleshooting to improve recovery rates and product quality.
- Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent plant operation and product specifications.
- Manage and mentor a team of metallurgists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Analyze plant performance data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards within the processing facility.
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mineral processing, with a strong focus on base metals or precious metals.
- Proven track record in process optimization, troubleshooting, and metallurgical project management.
- Experience with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both on-site and remote settings, adapting to hybrid work demands.
