Solar PV System Designer

Our client is looking for a creative and technically adept Solar PV System Designer to join their innovative team in Centurion. You will be responsible for creating efficient and effective designs for photovoltaic (PV) systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects. This role involves translating client needs and site assessments into detailed system layouts and electrical diagrams, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

• Design and engineer scalable solar PV systems for various applications, ensuring maximum energy yield and efficiency.
• Produce detailed system layouts, wiring diagrams, and component specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the optimal placement and configuration of PV arrays.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Collaborate with installation teams to provide technical support during the implementation phase.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in solar technology and design best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in designing photovoltaic systems.
• Proficiency with solar design software such as PVSyst, Helioscope, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of solar panel technologies, inverters, battery storage systems, and mounting structures.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards related to PV installations.
