Senior Metallurgist - Processing

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Metallurgist to join their advanced processing plant operations near Centurion . This role is crucial for optimizing the recovery of valuable minerals from ore, employing sophisticated metallurgical techniques and process control. You will play a key role in enhancing plant efficiency, improving concentrate grades, and minimizing environmental impact. • Develop, implement, and optimize metallurgical processes for mineral recovery, focusing on flotation , leaching, or other relevant techniques.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot plant test work to evaluate new process technologies and improvements.
• Monitor plant performance data, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal recovery and grade.
• Manage and mentor a team of metallurgists and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with geology and operations teams to align processing strategies with ore characteristics and mine plans.

• MSc or PhD in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in mineral processing plant operations and design.
• Expertise in the metallurgical processing of specific commodities (e.g., gold, platinum, base metals).
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with metallurgical simulation and modeling software.
• Excellent understanding of process control systems and laboratory analysis techniques.
