Civil Engineer - Geotechnical Investigations

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in Geotechnical Investigations to join their established team in Centurion . This role is critical for ensuring the stability and safety of various construction projects by understanding the soil and rock conditions upon which they will be built. You will be involved in planning and executing field investigations, laboratory testing, and providing essential recommendations for foundation design and earthworks.

• Plan, manage, and execute field investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing for soil and rock.
• Interpret subsurface data and perform geotechnical analyses for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports , including recommendations for site development, ground improvement, and seismic considerations.
• Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and clients to provide geotechnical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all fieldwork and laboratory testing comply with relevant standards and quality control procedures.
• Utilize specialized software for geotechnical modeling and analysis.

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a strong focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and site investigations.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, Geo Studio, or similar.
• Thorough understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Experience in managing field crews and coordinating laboratory testing programs.
