Project Engineer​/Engineering Manager

Our client, a leading project services and engineering organisation
, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Engineering Manager to join its professional project team. The position will be based in Irene, Centurion
, and will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and technical oversight across multidisciplinary projects from design and planning through procurement, construction and commissioning. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the required scope, quality, cost and schedule requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  , preferably Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' relevant engineering and project experience
  , preferably within mining, minerals processing, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in project engineering, engineering management and multidisciplinary project execution
  .
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer will be highly advantageous.
• Proven experience managing engineering activities through design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases
  .
• Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction packages
  .
• Strong understanding of project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk and technical deliverables
  .
• Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, technical specifications, contractor proposals and engineering deliverables
  .
• Experience with brownfield and/or greenfield project environments
  .
• Strong understanding of engineering interfaces between mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, process and other project disciplines
  .
• Experience working with EPCM, project services, mining or owner-team environments
  .
• Previous experience within the mining, minerals processing, coal, iron ore or heavy industrial sectors will be advantageous.
• Experience with project controls, procurement, cost management and project reporting
  .
• Experience managing engineering and construction contractors and technical service providers.
• Strong knowledge of applicable engineering standards, legislation, safety requirements and industry best practice
  .
• Project Management Professional (
  PMP
  ) or equivalent project management qualification will be advantageous.
• Management or leadership development qualification will be advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Office
  , including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, technical, leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Valid South African driver's licence
  .
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
