Senior Metallurgist - Processing Plant

Our client requires a highly skilled Senior Metallurgist to oversee and optimize metallurgical processes at their processing facility near Centurion . This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, improving recovery rates, and ensuring product quality across all stages of mineral processing. You will be a key technical advisor, leading a team of metallurgists and technicians, and collaborating with other departments to achieve production targets.

• Monitor and control metallurgical plant operations to optimize performance and metal recovery.
• Conduct test work and pilot plant trials to evaluate new process technologies and improvements.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the plant.
• Manage a team of metallurgists and laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Analyze process data and generate regular performance reports for senior management.

• Honours Degree or Master's degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in mineral processing metallurgy.
• In-depth knowledge of flotation, leaching, and refining processes.
• Experience with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, JKSimMet).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex, multidisciplinary environment.
