About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Project Mechanical Engineer to manage and execute diverse engineering projects within their manufacturing operations in Centurion . This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of mechanical projects, from conceptualization and design through to implementation and commissioning. You will play a key part in improving production efficiency, optimizing equipment performance, and ensuring the successful integration of new manufacturing technologies.
The position requires a proactive engineer who can effectively lead project teams, manage resources, and deliver results in a hybrid work setting that balances on-site collaboration with focused independent work.
- Plan, execute, and finalize mechanical projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide comprehensive reports to management.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring operational continuity and safety compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 6 years of proven experience in project management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and automation.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
