Electrical Design Engineer - Automation

Our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on automation to join their operations in Centurion . You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated electrical control systems for industrial automation processes. • Design electrical schematics and control panel layouts for automated machinery and production lines.
• Select appropriate components such as PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI systems.
• Develop and implement electrical safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and software developers to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
• Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, and testing phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience in industrial automation and control system design.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI development.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 79, IEC 60204).
• Experience with CAD software for electrical design.
