Senior Draughtsman

• N5 Multi-disciplinary Draughting Diploma or equivalent Mechanical Draughting qualification (Essential)
• N5/N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification (Advantageous)

• Minimum 5 years' experience within a design, draughting, and manufacturing environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Solid Works or Inventor.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
• Working knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
• Understanding of machining and assembly processes.
• Strong organisational, planning, and administrative abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

• Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings from engineering layouts.
• Convert hand sketches into CAD drawings using established drafting standards.
• Ensure drafting consistency and compliance with company standards.
• Work closely with engineers to clarify design requirements and resolve technical queries.
• Standardise and update existing engineering drawings and documentation.
• Incorporate engineering change requests into released drawings.
• Support the development and maintenance of engineering drawing procedures and quality documentation.
• Attend design reviews and project meetings when required.
• Coordinate drafting activities with project managers and engineering teams.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, fits, and assembly requirements before drawing release.
• Maintain CAD databases, templates, and standard parts libraries.
• Manage drawing revisions, document control, and electronic file backups.
• Convert engineering files between various formats including DWG, DXF, STP, PDF, and ZIP.
• Assist with ad hoc engineering and project requirements as needed.
