Lead Electrical Systems Architect

Our client, a prominent player in the advanced manufacturing sector, is actively seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Systems Architect to spearhead critical design initiatives from their state-of-the- art facility in Centurion, Gauteng . This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of complex electrical infrastructure and a passion for innovation. You will be responsible for defining the overarching architectural strategies for electrical systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance across multiple projects.

This position is integral to the company's long-term technological roadmap and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and design. Based exclusively in Centurion, Gauteng , this role requires your full presence to foster team collaboration and hands-on project oversight.

• Develop and refine high-level architectural designs for complex electrical systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout the design and implementation process.
• Define standards, guidelines, and best practices for electrical system design, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and components to meet system performance and scalability goals.
• Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and other engineering disciplines, to define system requirements and scope.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for electrical system designs.
• Oversee the integration of electrical systems with other infrastructure components, such as IT networks and mechanical systems.
• Champion innovation by researching and recommending emerging technologies and design methodologies.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Facilitate design reviews and present architectural proposals to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. A PhD is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on system architecture and design leadership.
• Proven experience in designing and architecting large-scale, complex electrical systems for industrial or high-tech environments.
• In-depth knowledge of power systems, control systems, embedded systems, and communication protocols.
• Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools for electrical systems.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing engineering teams.
• Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
• Experience working within the Centurion, Gauteng area and understanding local industry nuances is preferred.
• A strong understanding of project management principles and life cycles.
