Project Engineer - Water & Sanitation

Our client, What Jobs Direct, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Engineer to manage and oversee water and sanitation infrastructure projects within the Centurion, Gauteng, ZA region. This is a crucial role focused on the planning, execution, and delivery of projects vital to community development and public health. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in water and wastewater systems, excellent project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Plan, execute, and monitor water and sanitation projects from conception to completion.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Coordinate with engineering design teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Oversee the procurement of materials and services for projects.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local regulations, standards, and permits.
• Conduct site inspections and progress reviews to identify and resolve issues.
• Manage project documentation, including reports, plans, and correspondence.
• Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, local authorities, and community representatives.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on project sites.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in project engineering, specifically within the water and sanitation sector.
• Demonstrated experience in managing infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of water treatment processes, wastewater management, and pipeline systems.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience in contract administration and managing construction works.
• Reside within or be willing to commute to Centurion, Gauteng, ZA .
