Project Manager - Civil Engineering Focus

Our client, a highly respected civil engineering and construction management firm, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of significant infrastructure projects in and around Centurion, Gauteng
. This role demands a leader with a proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for client liaison, stakeholder management, team leadership, and risk mitigation. This is a crucial position within the organization, contributing directly to the successful delivery of impactful developments in the Centurion region.

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and close-out.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
• Oversee contractor performance and manage contract administration.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality of work.
• Prepare and present project reports, progress updates, and financial forecasts.
• Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during the project lifecycle.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project management, with a significant portion spent on infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Strong understanding of contract management (e.g., FIDIC, JBCC).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard office suites.
• Knowledge of relevant South African legislation and municipal processes.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
