An esteemed architectural and engineering consultancy is looking for an innovative HVAC Design Engineer to join their expanding practice in Centurion, Gauteng . This role is ideal for a creative and technically proficient engineer who can design and implement state-of-the-art Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire design process, from conceptualization and load calculations to detailed system design, specification, and ensuring compliance with building codes and energy efficiency standards.

- Design and engineer HVAC systems for various building types, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
- Conduct detailed heating and cooling load calculations using specialized software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700).
- Develop system layouts, schematics, and equipment specifications, including ductwork, piping, chillers, boilers, and air handling units.
- Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on project requirements, performance criteria, and budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive design documents, construction drawings, and specifications for tender and construction purposes.
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Perform site visits during construction to monitor installation progress and address any design-related queries.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant South African building codes, SANS standards, and international best practices for HVAC design.
- Conduct energy modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and achieve sustainability targets.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing HVAC systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in HVAC design for building services.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software such as HAP, Trace 700, or similar.
