About the Role
Our client is looking for an organized and proactive Event Planning Assistant to support their dynamic event management team based in Centurion . This role is crucial in assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events, from corporate functions to social gatherings. You will gain hands‑on experience in all facets of event logistics, client communication, and on‑site management.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses excellent organizational skills, and thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. This position offers a valuable opportunity to develop expertise in the events industry and contribute to the creation of successful and memorable occasions.
- Assist event managers in all stages of event planning, from conceptualization to post‑event evaluation.
- Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, audiovisual equipment, and vendor management.
- Prepare event materials, including invitations, registration forms, and on‑site signage.
- Provide on‑site support during events, assisting with setup, guest management, and troubleshooting.
- Manage event‑related communications with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate event budgets and track expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
- Prior experience in event planning, administration, or a related field is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and event management software is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to take initiative and learn new skills in event coordination .
- Hourly wage commensurate with experience, plus potential for event bonuses.
