Head Financial Reporting

• Oversee the day-to-day management of the financial reporting function
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, statutory returns, and management reports
• Prepare Annual Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards
• Develop, maintain, and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with tax legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks
• Manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements
• Monitor financial risks and provide strategic financial insights to executive management
• Supervise and support reporting team members
• Assist the CFO with financial planning, best-practice initiatives, and ad hoc projects

• CA(SA) qualification (essential)

• Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience in a supervisory or management-level finance role
• Insurance or broader financial services industry experience preferred
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and IFRS 17
• Experience preparing annual financial statements and regulatory reports
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
  
  Strong financial reporting and financial statement analysis expertise
• Knowledge of IFRS, Tax, Auditing, and governance frameworks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High levels of integrity, professionalism, and commercial acumen
