Ops Spec:Capacity and Availability Management
To oversee the capacity and availabilty management life cycles, ensuring IT services and infrastructure are designed and maintained to meet current and future business demands. This role requires a proactive approach to capacity and availability planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize resource allocation, improve performance, and enhance service reliability
Key Deliverables / Primary Functions- Assess current IT infrastructure and services to ensure capacity aligns with business needs.
- Develop and implement capacity planning strategies, ensuring scalability and performance across IT systems.
- Perform trend analysis and forecast future capacity requirements based on business growth and technology changes.
- Identify and mitigate capacity risks, ensuring availability SLA’s are met together with business continuity
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies in capacity and availability management practices
- Engage with business stakeholders to align capacity planning initiatives with strategic goals
- Provides capacity requirements for new or modified IT services
- Contributes to reports on performance against targets contained in (SLA’s)
- Provides capacity requirements for new or modified IT services
- Determines when system resources should be tuned and makes recommendations to IT management on the design and use of system resources to optimize their use

Minimum QualificationsNQF 6: 3 year Degree/ Diploma/ National Diploma in IT/Computer Science
NQF 4:
Grade 12 National Diploma
- 5 Years with experience in a Capacity management, service management or similar IT role.
- A strong understanding of IT Infrastructure, cloud environments and enterprise applications
ITIL 4 Foundation preferred
