Overview
A well-established organisation, based in Centurion, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Administrator to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems and devices internally and at client sites. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to high professional and ethical standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- 2+ years’ relevant experience in an IT support or systems administration role
- Basic experience in setting up laptops, desktops, and networks
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Leadership ability
IT Support & Systems Administration
- Provide first-line IT support to internal staff and external clients (hardware, software, and network troubleshooting).
- Manage and maintain hosted servers, email backups, and cloud storage solutions.
- Administer Microsoft accounts, third-party software, and proprietary systems.
- Manage IT helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
- Perform routine system administration (backups, updates, network maintenance).
- Setup and maintain the internal office IT infrastructure, including:
- Microsoft 365
- Basic networking
- Cloud servers
- ISP management
- Cybersecurity
- Laptops and desktops
- Collaborate with clients’ IT support teams to:
- Deploy new devices on networks (VLAN, IP configuration, switch configuration, firewall setup).
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Build, configure, and commission new display screens and LED systems, including:
- OS setup
- Driver installation
- Network configuration
- Panel calibration
- Maintain strong client relationships and prepare client-facing reports.
- MS Windows IoT image creation, deployment, and maintenance
- MS Windows health and data usage monitoring
- VPN management (Log Me In Hamachi / Tailscale)
- Focono LED electronic display board setup
- GSM/4G modem setup
- Networking (device connection, VLANs)
- Assist with hardware testing (motherboards, modems).
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Provide daily feedback on progress and task completion.
- Participate in an on-call roster for non-office hours.
- Standby during weekends or public holidays will be compensated.
