Duties & Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Governance & Compliance
Develop and maintain IT governance frameworks and policies.
Manage IT audits and track findings through to resolution.
Maintain the IT risk register.
Ensure POPIA and information security compliance.
Maintain IT asset, software and licence registers.
Report IT governance matters to Executive Management.
Digital Transformation
Develop and implement the digital transformation roadmap.
Identify opportunities for automation and optimisation.
Lead digital initiatives across the business.
Evaluate new technologies and identify opportunities to align technology with business strategy.
ALICE / LIMS Systems Ownership
Lead the ALICE and future LIMS implementations.
Manage data migration, integration and UAT.
Coordinate vendors and project timelines.
Ensure user adoption and successful system deployment.
Manage future system enhancements.
Software Development Governance
Manage internal software development activities.
Review code, architecture and database changes.
Approve software releases prior to deployment.
Ensure appropriate source control, testing and documentation.
Oversee SDLC and change management processes.
Cybersecurity Management
Lead the Cyber Security Improvement Programme.
Implement and manage MFA.
Coordinate vulnerability assessments.
Manage endpoint protection and monitoring.
Ensure compliance with the Bidvest Cyber Security Framework.
Coordinate cybersecurity awareness training and incident response.
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
Manage SQL Server databases.
Oversee backups, recovery and performance.
Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Conduct technical backup and recovery testing.
Reduce key-person dependency through knowledge transfer.
Data & IT Service Governance
Manage data governance and information security requirements.
Oversee vendor and service provider performance.
Manage relationships with software vendors and implementation partners.
Ensure technical quality assurance across IT projects and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Qualification:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or Software Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 7 years' relevant IT experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role.
Experience in software development environments.
Experience working with SQL Server.
Experience in IT governance, cybersecurity and project management.
Experience managing third-party service providers.

R700,000 – R900,000 CTC per annum, depending on qualifications and experience
