About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst to monitor and manage their critical network infrastructure from their hub in Centurion . This role is vital for ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of their telecoms network. You will be responsible for detecting, analyzing, and responding to network alerts and incidents, working collaboratively with engineering and support teams to resolve issues swiftly.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically adept individual who thrives in a high-pressure environment and possesses a keen eye for detail to safeguard network integrity.
- Actively monitor network traffic, performance, and availability using specialized NOC tools and dashboards.
- Respond to and diagnose network alerts, incidents, and outages, initiating corrective actions as per defined procedures.
- Escalate critical issues to senior engineers or relevant support teams, ensuring clear and concise communication.
- Perform routine system checks and network health assessments to proactively identify potential problems.li>
- Document all network events, troubleshooting steps, and resolution actions accurately in the ticketing system.
- Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a NOC or similar network monitoring environment within the telecoms sector.
- Familiarity with network monitoring software (e.g., Solar Winds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of network protocols and concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
- Ability to work shifts and remain calm and effective under pressure in Centurion .
