Lead Security Engineer

Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Security Engineer to spearhead their security engineering initiatives from their Centurion office. This senior role involves designing, building, and maintaining secure and scalable infrastructure, leading a team of security professionals, and setting the technical direction for the security architecture. You will play a crucial role in protecting the organization against sophisticated cyber threats, ensuring the resilience of systems, and driving innovation in security technologies.

• Design, architect, and implement advanced security solutions for cloud and on-premises environments.
• Lead and mentor a team of security engineers, fostering professional growth and high performance.
• Develop and enforce security engineering best practices, standards, and guidelines.
• Oversee the deployment and management of security tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Conduct threat modeling and security reviews for new applications and infrastructure projects.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code security.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for security tasks (e.g., Python, Power Shell).
• Experience with Dev Sec Ops  principles and practices.
• Strong understanding of threat intelligence, cryptography and secure coding practices.
