Senior Blockchain Data Scientist

Our client, a cutting-edge research and development firm focused on leveraging blockchain technology for data analytics, is seeking a Senior Blockchain Data Scientist. This role involves analyzing large datasets from blockchain networks to extract insights, build predictive models, and develop innovative data-driven solutions within the Crypto & Blockchain ecosystem. You will work with complex data structures, explore on-chain and off-chain data, and collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data insights into blockchain applications.

The position is based in the thriving technological hub of Centurion, Gauteng, ZA , and offers a hybrid work model that balances office-based collaboration with remote flexibility. • Analyze large-scale blockchain datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and implement machine learning models for tasks such as fraud detection, market prediction, and user behavior analysis.
• Design and build data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading blockchain data.
• Utilize data visualization techniques to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with blockchain developers to integrate data-driven features into decentralized applications.
• Conduct research on advanced analytical techniques applicable to blockchain data.
• Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies for data analysis and modeling.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in all analytical processes.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and blockchain analytics.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's knowledge base.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science or a related analytical role.
• Proven experience in analyzing blockchain data, including on-chain transaction analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, Num Py, Scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
