Lead Telecom Systems Architect

Our client, a prominent telecommunications innovator, is actively searching for an experienced Lead Telecom Systems Architect to spearhead the design and evolution of their advanced communication platforms. This critical role, based in Centurion, Gauteng , will involve defining the architectural roadmap for next-generation telecom services, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cutting-edge performance. • Develop and maintain the overall architecture for the company's telecommunications systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological trends.
• Lead the design and integration of new telecom technologies, including 5G, IoT, cloud-native solutions, and software-defined networking (SDN).
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendors to meet architectural requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product management, operations, and other stakeholders to define system requirements and ensure successful implementation.
• Conduct architectural reviews, performance analysis, and capacity planning to ensure system scalability and reliability.
• Define standards, best practices, and guidelines for system design and development within the telecom domain.
• Identify and mitigate architectural risks and propose alternative solutions when necessary.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments in the telecommunications sector.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications system design and architecture, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of mobile network architectures (e.g., 4G LTE, 5G ), IP networking, and cloud computing principles.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) and microservices design patterns.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of telecommunication protocols and standards (e.g., SIP, Diameter, SS7, TCP/IP).
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing technical teams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience in Centurion, Gauteng or similar technologically advanced urban environments is advantageous.
