About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled Chemical Plant Operations Engineer to manage and optimize day-to-day operations at their facility in Centurion . This critical role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of all chemical plant processes. You will be responsible for troubleshooting operational issues, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and leading the operational team to meet production targets. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment and possesses a deep understanding of chemical plant equipment and procedures.

• Oversee the daily operations of the chemical plant, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures, implementing effective corrective actions.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plant processes and equipment maintenance.
• Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Train and mentor plant operators and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.

• BEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or a similar role within the chemical manufacturing industry .
• In-depth knowledge of plant safety procedures, environmental regulations, and process safety management (PSM).
• Proven ability to manage teams and lead operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of process control systems and instrumentation.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities in a plant environment.
