Hygiene Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Hygiene Officer to oversee and implement comprehensive sanitation programs in their facilities located in Centurion . This role is critical in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel, and preventing contamination. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing hygiene protocols across various departments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sanitation best practices, excellent observational skills, and the ability to train and guide staff on proper hygiene procedures. This is an important role contributing to the overall operational integrity and public health standards.

• Develop, implement, and monitor cleaning and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify potential hygiene risks.
• Investigate and report on any hygiene-related incidents or complaints, recommending corrective actions.
• Provide training to staff on proper hygiene practices, food safety (if applicable), and the correct use of cleaning agents and equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, training, and corrective actions taken.
• Collaborate with management to ensure all operational areas meet stringent hygiene standards.

• Proven experience as a Hygiene Officer, Sanitation Supervisor, or similar role in a relevant industry (e.g., food processing, healthcare, manufacturing).
• In-depth knowledge of hygiene principles, sanitation standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough risk assessments.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
• Certification in a relevant hygiene or food safety course is highly advantageous.
