About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Genetics Researcher with a strong focus on Bioinformatics to join their forward-thinking R&D department in Centurion . This role is crucial for analyzing large-scale genomic datasets, identifying genetic variations, and understanding their role in health and disease. You will collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate genomic insights into actionable research findings. • Analyze large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets using various bioinformatics tools and pipelines.
• Develop and implement computational methods for variant calling, annotation, and association studies.
• Integrate multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) to uncover biological insights.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies and interpret results related to genetic factors.
• Visualize and communicate complex genetic findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics , Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience in analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data (WGS, WES, RNA-Seq).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with population genetics, statistical genetics, and machine learning concepts.
• Experience with common bioinformatics databases and public resources (e.g., Ensembl, NCBI).
