About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative Chemical Engineer to join their esteemed Research & Development team based in Centurion . This role focuses on exploring and developing novel chemical compounds and processes that will drive future product lines. You will be at the forefront of scientific discovery, working in a state-of-the‑art laboratory environment to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications.
The ideal candidate is passionate about chemical science and possesses a strong analytical mindset, contributing to the company's long-term growth and technological advancement in Gauteng .
- Conduct research experiments to develop new chemical formulations and processes.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive research reports.
- Scale up laboratory processes to pilot plant and eventually to commercial production levels.
- Collaborate with chemists, material scientists, and other engineers on cross‑functional R&D projects.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to enhance research capabilities.
- Ensure all research activities comply with safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.
- 3-5 years of experience in research and development, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation.
- Experience with process scale‑up and pilot plant operations is advantageous.
- Strong theoretical foundation in chemical principles and reaction engineering.
- Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills.
