About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and visionary Principal Investigator to lead their innovative Genomics research program in Centurion . This senior role is responsible for establishing and directing a research agenda focused on understanding genetic variation and its impact on human health and disease. You will lead a team of scientists and technicians, secure research funding, and publish high-impact findings.

This is a leadership position requiring scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for advancing the field of genomics through innovative research and discovery, contributing to a world-class research institution.

• Establish and lead an independent research program in genomics , focusing on areas such as population genetics, cancer genomics, or gene regulation.
• Secure competitive research grants from national and international funding agencies.
• Supervise, train, and mentor postdoctoral fellows, research assistants, and graduate students.
• Oversee the design and execution of large-scale genomic studies, including whole-genome sequencing and transcriptomics.
• Analyse and interpret complex genomic datasets, employing advanced bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
• Publish research findings in high-impact scientific journals and present at international conferences.

• Ph.D. or M.D. with a distinguished record of research productivity in Genomics, Genetics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience leading a research lab, with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated success in obtaining external research funding.
• Expertise in next-generation sequencing technologies and bioinformatics analysis pipelines.
• Proven ability to manage a research team and foster a collaborative, productive research environment.
