The Cashier / Shop Assistant (Flexi-Contract) at Mambos Storage & Home Centurion executes fast, accurate Point-of-Sale (POS) customer transactions, precise visual merchandising according to planograms, shelf replenishment, inventory auditing, and general floor maintenance.

Operating in a high-density homeware and plastics retail environment, the position ensures accurate price scanning, loss prevention, compliant cash handling, $100% stock availability on key display aisles, pristine floor cleanliness, and high-impact customer service in alignment with Mambos operational benchmarks.

Unpack delivery boxes, Execute stock replenishment, Scan barcodes accurately, Reconcile cash float, break down packaging, align products to planograms, process card/cash payments, count stock variance, and log stock intake, and verify price shelf labels, & handle price discrepancies, and sanitize till point.

• Delivery Processing: Receive new homeware, plastics, and storage stock shipments from the stockroom, carefully opening transit cartons without damaging underlying goods.
• Packaging Disposal & Safety: Break down empty cardboard boxes and plastic shrink wrap immediately, moving packing waste to designated recycling bays to keep stockroom aisles clear.
• Inventory Counts: Participate in periodic physical stock counts, logging stock shortages, damaged units, or scanning barcode errors directly to store management.

• Planogram Alignment: Arrange homeware, storage containers, and seasonal displays strictly according to Mambos visual merchandising planograms and floor guidelines.
• Stock Facing & Replenishment: Pull stock forward on display shelves (facing), ensuring shelf-edge labels (SELs) reflect correct CPA-compliant pricing and barcodes match product SKUs.
• Damage Isolation: Remove cracked plastics, broken lids, or shop-soiled items from display shelves, placing them in the damaged goods holding zone for managerial write-off logging.

• Efficient POS Processing: Operating electronic cash registers, scan product barcodes accurately, apply store promotions, and process cash, credit/debit card, and voucher payments.
• Price Variance & Scanning Error Escalation: Immediately report scanning discrepancies or unpriced items to supervisors, ensuring fair pricing resolution under the Consumer Protection Act.
• Customer Service Excellence: Provide prompt, polite assistance, guiding shoppers to specific storage, kitchenware, or homeware aisles with a proactive, customer-centric attitude.

• Cash Drawer Control: Adhere strictly to cash-handling policies, maintaining till float limits, securing cash drawers when stepping away, and performing dual-control cash-ups.
• Floor Sanitation & Housekeeping: Execute daily sweep, dust, and wipe-down protocols across cash tills, display shelving, and customer aisles to maintain a clean shopping environment.

  Prior retail or FMCG floor experience preferred. 1-2 years' combined Cashier and Merchandising experience in homeware or plastics retail.
• POS & Merchandising: Ability to operate a cash register accurately; basic understanding of planograms. Prior experience with modern retail scanner POS systems and visual merchandising standards.
• Operational Abilities: Ability to handle physical replenishment, breakdown of boxes, cleaning, and shelf stocking. High stamina, numerical accuracy, time management, and attention to detail.
