Social Worker - Family Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and qualified Social Worker to join their Family Services team in Centurion, Gauteng . This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to families facing various challenges, including child welfare, domestic issues, and socio-economic difficulties. You will work directly with families to assess their needs, develop intervention strategies, and connect them with relevant community resources and support networks.

This position requires a dedicated professional committed to fostering positive family dynamics and improving outcomes for children and adults within the Centurion community, operating in a traditional, non-remote capacity.

• Conduct thorough assessments of family dynamics, risks, and needs in accordance with statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement tailored case management plans for families requiring support.
• Provide counseling and therapeutic interventions to individuals and families to address complex issues.
• Facilitate supervised contact between children and non-custodial parents when necessary.
• Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and other community agencies to ensure holistic support.
• Prepare court reports and represent the organization in legal proceedings as required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent qualification, registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in family-focused social work.
• In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and best practices.
• Excellent report writing, advocacy, and mediation skills.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work effectively under pressure.
