About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Aerodrome Operations Officer to manage and oversee the daily operations of the airport in Centurion . This vital role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of the aerodrome, coordinating with various stakeholders including air traffic control, airlines, and emergency services. You will play a key part in maintaining operational integrity, responding to incidents, and implementing operational improvements.
This position is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong understanding of aviation regulations and a commitment to excellence in airport management, contributing to a secure and efficient aviation hub.
- Monitor and manage aerodrome activities, including flight movements, parking, and ground traffic.
- Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement aerodrome operational procedures and emergency response plans.
- Coordinate with air traffic services, airlines, security, and emergency services for seamless operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of aerodrome infrastructure and facilities to ensure safety and serviceability.
- Investigate operational incidents and anomalies, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in aerodrome operations, air traffic control, or airport management.
- In-depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 14, national aviation legislation, and safety management systems.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex operational challenges, with willingness for irregular hours.
