IntroductionWe’re looking for a dynamic, analytical, and detail-driven Financial & Cost Accountant to join our high-performing Finance team! In this pivotal role, you’ll go beyond traditional accounting — helping to uncover insights, optimize costs, and support strategic decisions that shape the future of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee core financial accounting functions and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist with monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Support the annual audit and budget processes.
- Monitor and review financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Provide financial insights to the Financial Manager for decision-making.
- Develop and maintain costing models for fruit packing operations.
- Perform detailed cost analysis and reporting for packing activities.
- Ensuring with the relevant role players a robust control environment for all packing materials.
- Maintain accurate packing material costings and monitor cost variances related to packaging usage and procurement.
- Collaborate with operational teams to implement cost-saving measures.
- Prepare productivity and efficiency reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
- Support the implementation and optimization of systems and costing tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a professional qualification (CA, SAIPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in financial accounting and cost accounting (preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or FMCG).
- Previous costing experience is essential; further studies in costing such as CIMA will be an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems and costing modules will be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of financial regulations and standards and statutory regulations (e.g., VAT).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Own reliable transport.
