SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR (CORPORATE DEPARTMENT)
Ecology Auto Parts Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Administrator to support our EHS operations at our Corporate Headquarters in Cerritos, CA. This part-time role plays an essential part in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our transportation network.
The Safety Administrator will assist with safety administrative tasks, data accuracy, incident documentation, Samsara video review, driver record support, and compliance initiatives. This role is well-suited for an individual looking to build foundational experience in safety operations, DOT compliance, telematics systems, and transportation-focused safety processes—without requiring prior analyst-level experience.
The ideal candidate will be fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and able to support frontline employees, supervisors, and management with clear communication, consistent follow-through, and a commitment to Ecology’s safety culture. This role directly contributes to maintaining a safe environment for our employees, drivers, customers, and communities.
Responsibilities- Perform daily data entry to accurately record safety information, incident files, training logs, and compliance documentation.
- Review, pull, and archive Samsara video events, including harsh braking, speeding, collisions, and coaching opportunities.
- Prepare event summaries and route video clips for follow-up or corrective action by Safety and Operations teams.
- Reconcile driver paperwork and ensure all required documents are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Assist with employee and driver coaching documentation, including issuing notices, tracking completion, and maintaining confidential files.
- Deliver safety orientations for new employees, emphasizing company policies, safety expectations, and emergency procedures.
- Support training efforts by preparing materials, scheduling sessions, and occasionally leading basic procedural training.
- Monitor safety inboxes, respond to inquiries, and elevate matters appropriately.
- Maintain and update driver qualification files, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of internal reports and external regulatory filings.
- Generate weekly safety summaries for supervisors, including Samsara logs, driver event reports, and relevant safety metrics.
- Attend safety meetings, assist with agendas, take notes, and distribute follow-up documentation.
- Support record reallocation and organization efforts to optimize safety workflows.
- Perform additional safety‑related administrative duties as assigned.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in safety or transportation is a plus.
- Experience in safety, transportation, logistics, or compliance preferred; strong organizational skills required.
- Familiarity with Samsara, telematics dashboards, or similar systems preferred.
- Working understanding of DOT regulations is beneficial.
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive safety and employee information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to nearby facilities when necessary.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate clearly.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, or move between office and yard environments.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires adequate vision for reviewing videos, documents, and digital materials.
- Some travel required.
Part‑time, non‑exempt hourly wage of $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Hours will vary based on operational needs but shall not exceed 30 hours per week.
