About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support enterprise data initiatives for a major U.S. healthcare payer, with heavy emphasis on Medicare Advantage and core payer operational systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong data modeling expertise, a deep understanding of modern cloud-based data architectures, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models for enterprise systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into scalable data structures.
Ensure data integrity, normalization, optimization, and overall model quality.
Partner with ETL developers and data engineers to implement models in data warehouses, EDH, and data lakes.
Document data dictionaries, metadata, relationships, and business rules per enterprise standards.
Support data governance, privacy, and compliance requirements (PHI/PII).
Perform data profiling, assess data quality, and define DQ rules and transformation logic.
Required Skills:
5+ years in data modeling, data architecture, or database design.
Hands-on experience with ERwin, Power Designer, or similar modeling tools.
Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, Postgre
SQL).Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, normalization, relational data structures, and data warehousing.
Experience with Azure Cloud, Data Lakes, and Enterprise Data Hubs.
Strong ability to convert business requirements into technical specifications.
Knowledge of API data formats (JSON, XML).
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with healthcare payer data (claims, provider, member).
Background in data governance and MDM.
Expertise in performance tuning and optimisation.
